Mumbai, Feb 9 (PTI) The Bombay High Court today issued a show cause notice for alleged contempt to district Superintendent of Police, Chandrapur.

The division bench of Justices Ranjana Desai and Mrudula Bhatkar also directed that S Dorje, the SP of Chandrapur, should remain present in the court on February 23.

The District Judge of Chandrapur Swapna Joshi, had referred the issue to the High Court.

According to Joshi, the SP was disrespectful to her at a recently held function, and he also disobeyed High Court&aposs orders.

The district judge had written a letter to Dorje for not attending monthly meetings which were being held to implement High Court&aposs order regarding delay in execution of warrants.

According to the district judge, the SP took objection to the letter when he came face to face with the judge later, and said that she had no authority to issue him such letter.

Saying that the SP"appears to have scant regard for the dignity of the court,"the High Court today issued him a notice, and directed him to remain present on the next date.
