NGO convener detained for collecting money

Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Feb 9 (PTI) A Non-Government Organisation (NGO) allegedly collecting money in the name of recruitment of government teachers was busted and its convener detained today at Bistupur in Jharkhand.

"An NGO, Development of Rural and Urban Mass", was found to collect 500 application forms duly filled in with Rs 200 bank draft or Postal Order attached to each of them,"Superintendent of Police, East Singhbhum district Sushil Kumar said.

He accompanied Sub-Divisional Officer of Dalbhum, Kartik Kumar Prabhat in the raid to the premises of the NGO.

Kumar said the district education department officials were alerted following frequent enquiry about the vacancies for the government primary teachers posts since the NGO published an advertisement in this regard in a local daily in January.
