New Delhi, Sep 12 The Centre has released Rs 80.56 crore for the development of horticulture in all northeastern states, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Under the
Technology Mission for northeastern states, a centrally sponsored scheme implemented by the
Agriculture Ministry, Rs 57.46 crore has been earmarked for the
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram,
Tripura and Sikkim, while Rs 23.10 crore will go to
Jammu and Kashmir,
Himachal Pradesh and
Uttarakhand as first installment of this fiscal, an official statement said.
The
Centre has earmarked Rs 349 crore for the 2009-10 fiscal, of which Rs 280 crore is for northeastern states and Rs 69 crore will be disbursed to the three
Himalayan states for overall development of horticulture in the region.
