No 'Sex and the City' in Dubai

Dubai, Sarah Jessica Parker starrer'Sex and the City' sequel has been stalled after local government refused permission to shoot parts of the story here.

Dubai Studio City said the producers of'Sex and the City 2' had submitted the script to Location Approval Services (LAS), the National newspaper reported.

"In accordance with its standard procedures, LAS referred the script to the relevant government authority to review the same by taking into consideration the multicultural fabric of the society and its perceptions,"a statement by Dubai Studio City said."Further to the recommendation of the government authority, the request for filming was declined,"it added.

The first movie was also banned in Dubai.Based on a column by writer Candace Bushnell, the story deals with four women and their search for love and meaning in the city of New York.

Apart from Parker, the sequel will star Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, who were also part of the TV series and the 2008 movie.
