Mumbai, July 29 (PTI) Bollywood singer Adnan Sami has approached the sessions court seeking permission to travel to Pakistan for performing a post-death ritual on 40th day after his father's death.
Sami, who was granted anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court in May this year in connection with a complaint filed by his wife Sabah Galadari, was directed to surrender his passport to the investigating police station. Sami's lawyer Vibhav Krishna today filed an application in the sessions court seeking permission for Sami to go to Pakistan on July 31 for performing the ritual."Sami has to perform certain rituals on the 40th day of his father's death and thus wants to go to Pakistan where his father has been buried,"Krishna said. The court will hear the application tomorrow. Sabah had in April this year filed a complaint with the suburban Oshiwara police alleging that Sami and his parents were mentally harassing and blackmailing her. According to Sabah, Sami possessed a CD and some photographs which showed her in a comprising position and had threatened to circulate them if she did not return the flats he had gifted her. Sami and his parents had approached the sessions court in April seeking anticipatory bail. While the court granted relief to the parents, it refused to grant releif to Sami.
