New Delhi, July 10 (PTI) Low-cost Dubai-based carrier FlyDubai, which was scheduled to begin its operations in India from July 13 has decided to delay its foray"due to operational reasons".
"Flydubai had planned to begin its operations to India with flight to Lucknow on July 13, Coimbatore on July 14 and Chandigarh on July 23, however, due to operational issues, we have had to delay these flights,"Flydubai CEO Al Ghaith said in a statement. The airline, which operates flights between Dubai and Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Egypt, was to begin its services between Dubai and Lucknow, and Coimbatore and Chandigarh. Its inaugural flight to Lucknow was scheduled to arrive on July 13, while on July 14 it was to start its operation for Coimbatore and Chandigarh from July 24."We understand that this is very inconvenient for the passengers who have booked flights with us to India and we apologise for the disruption and disappointment caused,"he said. The airlines would contact all the passengers who have booked their tickets on its three flights to India and give them full refund. Also they would get a voucher for a free return flight to India or anywhere on the Flydubai network, which would be valid for travel by the end of November 2009.
