Five 'emergency rooms' to come up in Goa for critical patients

Panaji, July 4 (PTI) Goa government will set up five'emergency rooms'across the state so that the critical patients can be stabilised before they are admitted to hospitals.

"These facilities (emergency rooms) will be equipped with all the equipments required. Goa will be the first state in the country to have such rooms,"state Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane told reporters here today.

The Minister said that an ambulance and highly trained para medical staff would be attached to these emergency rooms.

"We will tie up with EMRI to set up these rooms,"he said. The state currently has ambulances run by EMRI. The Ministry has identified state's remote places like Canacona, Sankhali, Chicalim, Curchorem and Candolim for setting up the facility as they are away from state-run hospitals.
