New Delhi, May 3 Travel portal makemytrip.Com plans to expand its presence in the country by opening more outlets through the franchisee route in the next one year.

"We will expand our franchisee network and have 25-30 stores under it in the next one year,"makemytrip.Com CEO Deep Kalra told PTI.

The company, which recently opted for the franchisee mode, has 13 stores under such format.

Many of these would be set up in tier-II and tier-III towns, he added.

It has 20 company-owned travel shops in various cities.

"The stores owned by us are not firmly established and doing good business," Kalra said.

Makemytrip.Com started setting up physical stores a few years ago and such offices or kiosks account for 15 per cent of the total revenue of the company.

On Singapore Airlines, which has stopped paying commission to the agents, Kalra said his company is not selling tickets of the carrier anymore.

"We are not selling tickets of Singapore Airlines in support to the agents community which has boycotted the Airline,"he said.
