New Delhi, Mar 10 A large number of Tibetans today sat on a hunger strike in the national capital to mark the 50th year of Tibetan National Uprising and sought India&aposs help in their struggle for freedom from China.

Shame on China&apos, around 200 activists also organised a&apospadayatra&apos(walk) from Raj
Ghat to the protest site at
Jantar Mantar.
The hunger strike, organised by
Tibetan Youth Congress which started this morning, will last"50 hours, 50 minutes and 50 seconds".
The protestors also asked the
United Nations to exert meaningful influence on
China on the
Tibet issue and release of the
Panchen Lama.
