A special court has issued a non-bailable warrant against a circle officer (CO), and an SP was directed to produce him before the court to depose in connection with a suspected dowry death case.

Special Judge (SC/ST Act) Ashok Kumar Saxena, issued an NBW against CO of Kunda, Ramesh Chandra Shah after he failed to appear before it despite many summons, police said today.

The case pertains to the death of one Roli, a resident of Awas Vikas colony. She was allegedly set ablaze in June, 2007 by her husband Neeraj Saxena and her in-laws for want of dowry.

Though Shah was the investigating officer, he failed to appear before the court despite several summons. The trial has suffered delays because of his absence, police added.
