Two farmers commit suicide in Maharashtra

Amravati, Mar 29 Two young farmers, who had taken loans, have allegedly committed suicide here in Eastern Maharashtra, police and family sources said.

Kote (30), a resident of Nandura Pinglai village, consumed poison yesterday. He owned two acres of farmland and had taken Rs 40,000 from a local co-operative society, they said.

Also yesterday, one Deshmukh, who hailed from Bhatkuli village, ended his life by consuming poison. He had taken loans from Central Bank of India as well as other sources, the sources added.

Both the deceased were members of the Shiv Sena, police said.
